We are excited to announce the opening of applications for our the Djangonaut Space 2025 Session 4!

This program places an emphasis on group-learning, sustainability and longevity. Djangonauts are members of the community who wish to level up their current Django code contributions and potentially take on leadership roles in Django in the future. 🦄

This is a free, 8-week group mentoring program where individuals will work self-paced in a semi-structured learning environment. Each participant will be put in a team of 3 others along with two mentors to help guide them through the journey. We recommend having at least 5 hours during the week available dedicated for this program.

One hour a week will be a team meeting to discuss project updates and any questions that come up. The rest of the time Djangonauts will work at their own pace on contributions and check-in with questions or discussions asynchronously in our private discord.

Our last session was such a success, we have decided to have teams work on the same projects: Django Core, django CMS, Django Debug Toolbar, and a team focused on accessibility. We encourage you to read up on each of the topics and projects before applying so you can mark what you are interested in.

In previous sessions we've only been able to select about 10% of applicants so please keep this in mind while filling out the applications and making sure they are complete. We will read each application and score them based on a number of factors.
