Session 1 Featured ⭐ Stars ⭐
- Rachell
- May 1, 2024
During our first official session of Djangonaut space, these folks worked diligently with unwavering commitment to their work but also in supporting their fellow Djangonauts. We proudly present them as the ⭐ Stars ⭐ of our community.
Our Stars are more than just developers; they are visionaries, problem solvers, and trailblazers, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in open source.
Each Star brings their unique expertise to our community, whether through starting their own community initiatives, sharing insightful contributions and blog posts, hosting office hours for the community, lightening the mood with cute cat photos 😺, or offering their continued support for fellow community members.
Come join us as we celebrate and elevate the shining Stars of our community! We're here to highlight their accomplishments, share their inspiring stories, and build connections that spark creativity and encourage growth. 🎉
This showcase features a group of Session 1 Djangonauts who have chosen to share their experiences, reflecting the diverse impacts of our program.

The Djangonaut Space has been my launchpad for contributing to the Django ecosystem. From crafting newsletter updates for Django News that sparked joy to contributing to the Django toolbar and Django itself, it's been a blast! The friendships and connections I've made here are pure gold, and guess what? My Django love affair continues – docs, code, and the toolbar, I'm still all in! This community is pure awesomeness.

Coming from a background in wildlife management and conservation, transitioning to become a
backend developer was a challenging leap for me. However, it didn't stop me, and I pushed my
boundaries by applying to this program. And I'm so glad I did! I'm incredibly grateful for
the opportunity to participate and contribute to such a fantastic community, which has
provided me with immense support and encouragement. Thank you for this opportunity to grow
and learn alongside fellow enthusiasts and professionals. To others like me, remember: There
are no limits to your potential achievements!

This program has exceeded my expectations on so many levels. I started very intimidated and with zero experience with open source. Now I'm way more confident in continuing the journey on my own!
I now have a good idea of what I like and what I don't, what my limits are, what I can best offer the community, and what the community can offer me! All thanks to the tremendous mentorship, guidance, and support from the wonderful people at Djangonaut Space.

When I joined this program, I wasn't sure how much I could achieve. However, I found a group
of splendid individuals who not only guided me toward solutions but also provided valuable
advice to face numerous new challenges. Embrace the power of community. While there are many
things someone can do, letting the community guide you opens up even more possibilities.

I'm so grateful to have been a part of the Djangonaut Space program. It's a wonderfully
warm, diverse, and welcoming space, and the perfect place to get started with Django
contributions. The community is full of bright, talented individuals who are making time to
help and guide others, which is truly a joy to experience. Before Djangonaut Space, I felt
as though I wasn't the kind of person who could become a Django contributor; now I feel like
I found a place where I belong.
