Session 6 has ended, and we want to celebrate by sharing all the stellar achievements during the mission. Over the past weeks, our talented teams of Djangonauts have collaborated across time zones, tackled challenging issues, and made significant contributions to Django, its ecosystem and BeeWare. We want to thank the BeeWare project and Kattni for their pioneering of collaborating with Djangonaut Space to make contributing to open-source software more sustainable!

Growing with Django's Open Source Community - Clifford Gama

Clifford Gama presented "Growing with Django's Open Source Community" where he shared his journey into open-source and contributing to Django. His mission log for his journey to being a Triage and Review team member was inspiring!

Growing Beyond the Session

While our Djangonauts made incredible progress within Session 5, their impact reached far beyond their assigned projects. This community continues to shine across the wider Python and Django ecosystem, and we’re immensely proud to celebrate their achievements:

🌟 Hwayoung and Johanan became "Updates to Django" collaborators
🌟 Hwayoung was awarded the Outstanding PyLady Award for 2026
🌟 Johanan became a member of the Website Working Group
🌟 Eddy, Remy and Sean had their first PRs to Django merged
🌟 Eddy was offered a new job
🌟 Afi, Dawn, and Sarah Abderemane was a keynote speaker at PyLadiesCon
🌟 Amanda, Hwayoung, and Rahmat spoke at PyLadiesCon
🌟 Andy, Farhan, Keanya and Velda were all participants on the Django Chat podcast
🌟 Rachell and Tim were invited to by keynote speakers at PyCon US about Djangonaut Space
🌟 Aayush, Dawn, Kattni, Mariatta, Mario, and Paolo had talks accepted at PyCon US
🌟 Aayush had two solo papers published on quantum inspired deep learning models
🌟 Priya and Ryan were elected to the DSF board
